Retirement!

  Scherstad Systems, Inc. (SSI) was founded in 1986 with a clear mission: to help business clients integrate the latest technology to operate more effectively while embracing the rapidly evolving world of computer innovation. 

Back then, the Compaq Deskpro ran at a blazing 16 MHz—about 200 times slower than today’s smartphones—and came with a 40 MB hard drive. The first true laptop, IBM’s PC Convertible, weighed 12 pounds, and data was shared through floppy disks. Over the years, those floppies gave way to 3.5” hard cassettes, then to USB drives, and today, in 2026, most data is stored and accessed seamlessly in the Cloud. 

Technology—both hardware and software—has transformed dramatically over the past 39 and a half years. Throughout it all, my dedicated staff and I at SSI stayed ahead of the curve, continually learning, adapting, and supporting our clients as systems and tools evolved. 

Our business grew almost entirely through referrals, with 95% of our clients coming from satisfied customers recommending us to others. To my network of clients and business associates: I deeply appreciate the trust and confidence you have placed in me and my company over the decades. Thank you sincerely. 

After nearly four decades of service, the time has come to step back. On December 31, 2025, I completed my last service call and began my well-earned retirement.
